Class Description
Class I – District-Sponsored Activities
Includes all events and programs directly organized by the Branchburg Township School District, such as curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities, staff development, Board of Education meetings, school clubs, concerts, and athletic events.
Class II – School-Affiliated & Educational Support Organizations
Includes PTO/PTA groups, booster clubs, education foundations, and other school–parent/community organizations recognized by the District. Also includes affiliated programs such as Somerville High School activities involving Branchburg students.
Class III – Government Agencies
Includes Branchburg municipal departments (e.g., recreation, police, emergency services) and other governmental entities at the county, state, or federal level using facilities for official business or public programs.
Class IV – Branchburg-Based Youth & Community Organizations
Includes recreational sports leagues, youth programs, civic, cultural, educational, or service organizations that primarily serve Branchburg residents, especially those with demonstrated nonprofit status.  
 
Class V – Regional & Non-Branchburg Nonprofit Organizations Includes nonprofit organizations and community groups based outside of Branchburg that offer programs, services, or events within the Township or in collaboration with the District.
Class VI – For-Profit & Commercial Organizations Includes all businesses, commercial groups, and private entities using District facilities for seminars, services, or events not affiliated with the school district.

Insurance Requirements: All organizations requesting use of Branchburg Township School District facilities must provide a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming the Branchburg Township Board of Education as an additional insured. The certificate must evidence a minimum of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate for general liability coverage, including bodily injury and property damage. If applicable, organizations must also carry automobile liability and workers’ compensation insurance as required by law. The certificate must include the following language: “The Branchburg Township Board of Education, its officers, employees, and agents are named as additional insureds with respect to the use of school facilities.” Proof of insurance must be submitted at least 5 business days prior to the scheduled event. Failure to provide satisfactory proof of insurance may result in cancellation of facility use approval.
